Edit an Application

Applications administrators can edit the application configuration in the Catalog. The Edit action is accessible by first accessing the Application Details.

The Application Details and SSO tabs contain the fields to define the application, determine how the application is presented to users, and the manner in which users access the application.

The Application Name, Description, and Icon do not have labels. These three configurations appear in at the top of the Edit Application sidebar.

Administrators can edit the application icon by clicking the pencil, clicking an icon, and then clicking Select. Alternatively, administrators can upload a custom application icon.

RapidIdentity automatically extracts the application colors and administrators can select one of the extracted colors or use the color picker to define the application background color.

Table 350. Application Details Fields

Details Field

Description

Owner

Required. The user responsible for this application.

Categories

Applications can be assigned to existing Categories. Initially, only My Applications is an available Category. Categories are created by navigating to My Applications in the left sidebar and selecting the gear icon next to All.

Application URL

Required. The application URL. Tokens may be used in the Application URL. All LDAP attributes are valid.

Application Access

Can be one of three types: Authenticated and Anonymous Users; Anonymous Users Only; or Authenticated Users Only.

Status

Determines if the application icon link will be visible in RapidIdentity Portal.

Priority

Required. This value allows administrators to determine both the relative order and application icon size users see when accessing My Applications.

Assigning priority is very useful when users have access to large numbers of applications, particularly if accessing applications from a mobile device.

Applications can have equivalent priority (e.g. 3 applications set to priority 100).

Access Control

Can be one of three types: None; Role-based; or Attribute-based.

Selecting either Role-based or Attribute-based triggers fields to define roles or attributes to determine the user population that can access the application.

ole-based allows administrators to define roles to include or exclude users matching that DN of the role. Attribute-based allows users matching the LDAP filter to access the application
